Another project in recent weeks was the delivery and installation of two KBA RA105-5Pro and RA105-4Pro printing presses at a customer’s site in North Rhine-Westphalia. In total, we had to unload six semi-trucks over two days, unpack the machine parts, and bring them inside one by one. Both machines were delivered on time, allowing ZBV Fels to begin operations without any downtime for the trucks or the installation team.
Not only the low ceiling height but also the recently renovated industrial floor posed an additional challenge. The machines had to be brought in packed on pallets, since overhead transport was not possible due to the limited size of the entrance gate. Our special forklift, the “Büffel,” was used for unloading and loading. Thanks to its gas-powered drive and compact design, it is ideal for navigating narrow or enclosed spaces. Thanks to years of experience, the processes were quickly coordinated, and the team brought in the parts one by one. It wasn’t until they reached the loading area that the printing units were lifted off the bottoms of the crates, positioned, and then aligned.
