Even in retirement, it’s nice to try something new—and that’s certainly true for the residents of the Korschenbroich senior living facility. The new building was scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, which meant it was time for residents to move within the facility. Despite a delay in the move due to construction setbacks, a new schedule was drawn up at short notice and carried out on time by ZBV Fels. The project required not only a lot of manpower but also sensitivity toward the residents, as the move took place during the retirement home’s normal daily routine. While the daily routines of the caregivers and residents continued, the contents of the living areas were packed into boxes and on wheeled clothing carts, moved along with the furniture, and then unpacked item by item and placed back into the furniture. As a result, all residents were able to move into their new home stress-free at the end of each moving day, without having to lift a finger themselves.
A particular challenge was relocating the dementia unit while operations continued. The focus was not only on carrying out the seniors’ move according to schedule, but above all on the well-being and satisfaction of the residents. Ensuring a stress-free move for the seniors was the top priority, and it was carried out to the residents’ complete satisfaction. Despite some last-minute changes to the schedule and additional tasks on site, our furniture crew and installers successfully completed all work on time, to the full satisfaction of the facility management.
